Ireland Wisdom is one of the few painters that still practices figurative oil painting with models from life using traditional materials and classic European techniques. Her paintings in Best of Bone and Blood, her solo show at Carlye Packer, are huge and dark and light. This will probably be one of the few art shows you will ever have the opportunity to see in which a painter utilizes this dying style.
